【明治大学イベント「アルゼンチンのフォルクローレの魅力」】
昨日は、明治大学の国際連携本部が主催する「アルゼンチンのフォルクローレの魅力」にて、アルゼンチン北部アンデス地方の文化と風景について、講演させていただきました。
また、アルゼンチンの風景写真を１０枚ほど展示しました。

後援のアルゼンチン大使館から、ペドロ・マロッタ公使、マウリシオ・ムニョス書記官、職員の方々もお越しになっていました。

アルゼンチン北部をお話しした後に、アンデスの民族音楽・フォルクローレの演奏です。日本ではアルゼンチンがどんな国かまだよく認知されていないので、このような機会にもっと知られるようになれば嬉しいです。

A continuación, hubo una actuación de música folclórica de los Andes, folklore. Argentina aún no es reconocida bien en Japón, por lo que me alegraría que se diera a conocer mejor a través de eventos como éste.

Yesterday I gave a lecture on the culture and landscape of northern Argentina at an event organized by Meiji University. I also exhibited 10 photos of Argentina.
This was followed by a performance of Andean folk music, folklore. Argentina is still not well recognized in Japan, so I would be happy to make it better known through events like this.

Camping at Mt.Huantsan, Cordillera Blanca, Peru -ワンツァン(6395m)展望のキャンプ

長大なアンデス山脈の中でも、特に高峰が集中するのがペルーのブランカ山群です。6000m峰が17座も集中しています。南北約200km続く山脈で、「ブランカ」を日本語に訳すと「白い」を意味します。赤道付近にも関わらず文字通り山脈そのものが真っ白な氷河に覆われていましたが、半世紀で６割以上が消失してしまいました。
氷河の消失は、山麓で農業を営むケチュア族に人にとって死活問題です。紀元前から続く伝統文化の継承にも危機が訪れるかもしれません。
日に日に山容が変化するアンデス山脈の各地では、早く撮影しに再訪せねばと焦りさえも感じるものです。

Among the vast Andes Mountains, the Blanca Mountains in Peru are home to a particularly high concentration of peaks. It extends approximately 200 km from north to south, and the word “blanca” translates to “white” in Japanese. Despite being near the equator, the mountain range itself was literally covered with pure white glaciers, but more than 60% of them have disappeared in half a century.
The disappearance of glaciers is a major problem for the Quechua people, who farm at the foot of the mountains. The succession of their traditional culture, which has continued since BC, may also be at risk.
In the Andes Mountains, where the mountain shape is changing day by day, I even feel a sense of urgency to revisit the area to take photographs as soon as possible.

Entre la vasta cordillera de los Andes, la cordillera Blanca de Perú alberga una concentración especialmente elevada de picos. Se extiende unos 200 km de norte a sur. A pesar de estar cerca del ecuador, la cordillera estaba literalmente cubierta de glaciares de color blanco puro, pero más del 60% de ellos han desaparecido en medio siglo.
La desaparición de los glaciares es un grave problema para el pueblo quechua, que cultiva al pie de las montañas. La sucesión de su cultura tradicional, que perdura desde antes de Cristo, también puede estar en peligro.
En la cordillera de los Andes, donde la forma de las montañas cambia día a día, siento incluso la urgencia de volver a visitar la zona para tomar fotografías lo antes posible.

山地の段々畑にあるオリーブ畑は、機械による収穫が難しいことから、手作業による収穫をしています。そのために収穫量が少ないのですが、品質の高さで知られています。

Residential area at Machupicchu / マチュピチュの居住区
マチュピチュ遺跡は、大渓谷とジャングルにある「絶海の孤島」のようです。交易する機能は無く、巨大な神社のような存在でした。そして、食糧や建築資材などのほとんどを自給自足するために、約700人くらいの人が暮らしていたそうです。居住区には、貴族や職人、農民など、様々な職業の人の家が職種ごとに分けられています。

The Machu Picchu ruins are isolated island in a large valley and jungle. It had no function to trade and was like a huge shrine. And about 700 people lived there to be self-sufficient in most of the food and building materials. In the residential area, we can see houses of various occupations, such as aristocrats, craftsmen, and farmers.

Las ruinas de Machu Picchu son una isla aislada en un gran valle y selva. No tenía ninguna función para el comercio y era como un enorme santuario. Allí vivían unas 700 personas que se autoabastecían de la mayor parte de los alimentos y materiales de construcción. En la zona residencial, podemos ver casas de diversas ocupaciones, como aristócratas, artesanos y agricultores.

Workshop district, Machupicchu-マチュピチュの石工職人区 -
アンデス高原とアマゾンの間、険しい渓谷の尾根に孤立して建設されたマチュピチュ遺跡。建設半ばに放棄されましたが、細かい都市計画を基に築かれました。切り出した岩を加工した石工の地区は、マチュピチュの都市区の入口にあります。
マチュピチュ遺跡には、霧がとても似合います。その神秘的な存在感が際立つからです。５月～１０月の乾季でも、アマゾンの気候の影響を強く受けるので、特に朝は霧に覆われる可能性が高いようです。

Machu Picchu ruins were built isolated on a steep canyon ridge between the Andean plateau and the Amazon. Abandoned in mid-construction, it was built on the basis of a detailed urban plan. The workshop district, where the quarried rock was worked, is located at the entrance to the Machu Picchu urban district.
Fog suits the ruins of Machu Picchu so well because of its mysterious presence; even during the dry season from May to October, the area is strongly influenced by the Amazon climate, so it is likely to be covered by fog, especially in the mornings.

Las ruinas de Machu Picchu se construyeron aisladas en la cresta de un escarpado cañón entre la meseta andina y el Amazonas. Abandonadas a mitad de su construcción, se levantaron sobre la base de un detallado plan urbanístico. El barrio de taller, donde se trabajaba la roca extraída, se encuentra a la entrada del distrito urbano de Machu Picchu.
La niebla le sienta tan bien a las ruinas de Machu Picchu por su misteriosa presencia; incluso durante la estación seca, de mayo a octubre, la zona está fuertemente influenciada por el clima amazónico, por lo que es probable que esté cubierta por la niebla, sobre todo por las mañanas.
